Forged Steel Globe Valve Full Bore & Reduced Bore

A forged steel globe valve class 800 can be either full bore or reduced bore, and each type has its own distinct design and characteristics.

A full bore forged steel globe valve has a larger internal diameter, which allows for unimpeded flow of fluid through the valve. This type of valve is designed for applications where high flow rates are required and is often used in pipeline systems.

A reduced bore forged steel globe valve, on the other hand, has a smaller internal diameter than the pipe it is connected to. This creates a restriction in the flow path and can result in a pressure drop across the valve. This type of valve is typically used in applications where flow control is more critical than high flow rates, such as in process control systems.

Both full bore and reduced bore forged steel globe valves are constructed from strong and durable forged steel and feature a movable disk or plug that controls the flow of fluid through the valve. When the valve is fully open, the disk is moved out of the way, allowing for unimpeded flow. When the valve is closed, the disk is lowered into position to block the flow path.
